A
volcanic eruption that has occurred thousands of years ago has brought the Mt
Kilimanjaro into existence. And now three volcanic cones are located on this mountain,
which are dormant ones. These volcanic cones are named as Kibo, Shira and
Mawenzi. There also used to be glaciers on this mountain but they have slowly
started to disappear due to the effects of global warming. From the sea level,
the summit of this mountain is located at a height of 5,895 meters. So, this is
really a formidable height that every hiker or trekker needs to cover in order
to reach for its summit. This is sometime called as the walk up mountain
because climbers just need to walk through its trail to reach for the summit.
So, to climb Kilimanjaro, there is
hardly any technical skill you need. There is no need to take the ice axes as
well as ropes as there is hardly any chance for you to fall down from the
cliff. There is also hardly any part of the trail where you will need to
showcase particular rock climbing skills.
